Drift is a messaging app that will help you grow your business. With live chat, in-app messages, and more, you can talk to your website visitors, convert more leads, and keep customers happy.

Connect Drip and Drift

In your Drift account, go to Settings > Integrations and select Drip:


Click on “Connect Account”:


Next, you will need to:

  • Sign in to your Drip account (if you aren’t already).
  • Select a Drip account (only if you have multiple Drip accounts).
  • Click “Authorize” to grant Drift access to your Drip account.


Once the integration is authorized, you will see that your Drip account is connected:



How it works

Anytime someone new initiates a chat with you through Drift, they will automatically get added as a subscriber in your Drip account.

Someone initiating a chat also sends in an event.

Here’s how that event is displayed on the subscriber’s timeline:


Since the event gets recorded every time a subscriber starts a chat, you can set up a filter to see who has initiated multiple chats with you:


You can also use the event to trigger Workflows or Rules.

Use the “Performed a custom event” trigger:


Let’s say you want to tag the new lead. You can use a Rule for that:


Then, you might use that tag to trigger a workflow in which you send an email campaign:
